The enclosure of the R2i is machined and hand-crafted from materials chosen for their exceptional acoustic properties; here finished with high quality Walnut veneer. This choice of finish combines perfectly with the cool steel panels and mesh grilles to create a tactile feel to match the R2i’s elegant design. Vita Audio's distinctive RotoDial controller sits atop of the unit making operation simple and intuitive. Quality inside and out The look of Vita Audio R2i exudes style, but sonically it’s equally impressive. Custom made high-fidelity drive units and electronics with 3D sound processing provide a scale and quality of sound that belies the R2i’s compact dimensions. With a new tuner, DAB and FM performance is exceptional. The Vita Audio R2i also has other quality features that have been carefully considered. A new high contrast display with large format clock makes time reading clearly legible even from afar. On the front panel a headphone socket along with a line input allows headphones and other audio devices to be easily connected. Usefully the volume of the headphones output is ‘remembered’ independently from the main volume, so whenever headphones are inserted the volume reverts to the users last selected level. On the rear panel are two pairs of high quality gold-plated phono sockets. The first provides output for recording or hook-up to secondary systems and the second provides an additional input for the permanent connection of a CD/MP3 player or TV/DVD. Completing the Vita Audio R2i is a compact remote control that enables all key R2i and iPod functions to be set and operated from the comfort of a chair or bed.
